Besides the bookending birthday parties and Easter, which I'll post about later, here's a peek at how we spent the rest of our Spring Break.
Warning: Extreme excitement ahead.
Tyler got a remote control Mario kart for his birthday and we've been having a great time playing with it around Kyle. He loves it! He gets the biggest grin and starts to giggle, which in turn makes Tyler laugh all the more. And I'm telling you - nothing makes that boy crawl faster than a Mario Kart on the move. Too much fun!

Last weekend we took Tyler to an egg hunt at the fire station. We've gone to these before and it's not really a 'hunt' because all of the eggs are just scattered out on the grass in plain sight. It's more of a 'mad dash' to get as many eggs as possible. I've never liked the feeling of it being a race or competition, so I vowed years ago that we'd never do one again. But this year when I heard about the hunt at the fire station, I thought maybe it'd be a smaller crowd and less crazy. WRONG! Same deal. I hate those things! And can you tell me why all the parents are on the field? Those kids don't need help! It just adds to the craziness. So out of the thousands of eggs on the field, Tyler got 4....kind of disappointing. So I'll say it again, and I mean it this time: I never want to do another egg hunt!
As for the rest of the week, we tried to get outside everyday even if it was just for a walk around our neighborhood.
We went to the duck pond, and for the first time ever, we couldn't get rid of a single piece of bread. The ducks just weren't hungry that day. So Tyler went to play on the playground and Kyle wanted to leap out of stroller after him.
Strangely the playground was really full. With a birthday party going on and a bus full of kids that showed up, it was way more crowded than normal.
We had banana pancakes for breakfast. (Am I the only one embarrassed by Tyler's Thomas the Train placemat and Dora the Explorer plate? He outgrew those cartoons years ago. I think I need to look for some age appropriate replacements).
We spent an entire day in Seattle at the Swedish hospital, where the doctors were trying to figure out the mystery of Rick's tummy troubles.
The kids and I sat in the waiting room for.ev.er. And in the end Rick was given a clean bill of health....nothing was found to point a finger at. Ugh. His misery continues.
By the time we finally left the hospital, the day was almost over, which is a shame because it was so beautiful outside. Perfect spring day.
We went to get dinner and the boys were so exhausted that they both fell asleep in the car.
We went to the Rainforest Cafe for dinner.
Tyler really enjoyed it, but Rick and I thought it was more hype than it was worth.
So there you have it...our Spring Break in a nutshell.
